Lizardmen Auspicious Phalanx | Warhammer Pre-orders | Warhammer | Games Workshop
If you want a laugh in that GW expect us to be forking best part of £1,000, YES - that's just under £1000 ( -£56.40) check out the above link. I can think of numerous ways to spend that absolutely anywhere else in one hit, but if you really are mad enough ( or rich enough!) to be able to afford that kindda outlay then check out the many independents that can put the individual kits together for a 20-25% discount saving around £200+/-!!!
Right, now that the new releases are out the way, back to HE, OK and WOC...
A blog about all things of the Warhammer World for gaming, painting and collecting. Since starting this I have also now started to play X-Wing....

Don't play Lizardmen myself, but the new launch of the Army Book and accompanying models is covered in the next WD, "officially" released this weekend, although a lot of individuals & retailers appear to have early copies. See link below which shows images taken from the magazine..

July - High Elves
This month has seen the decision to start a new army, somewhat a force that I have NEVER actually been inclined to look further into, however from a visual perspective and also allowing for the painting possibilities, the recently re-vamped High Elves have made their mark and I am now planning on what will be around a 3000pt force.
First decision - based around what scheme?? ( in actual fact this was going to be the first decision but new model syndrome took over..)
Second decision - which colour scheme?? - answer - involves "red". Based upon other existing forces which transpire to work in progress or painted miniatures, I wanted to continue some loose link as a theme and with Chrace getting my interest I preferred a red scheme over the custom blue. In short this will not be an existing or set scheme but something that builds over time.
Test model no. 1 ( well, actually Spearmen are WIP for this currently ) but I found an older metal "KORHILL" miniature to work on so attach initial image below.
Note: I am nowhere near the level of a professional painter and close up images do tend to show up every mistake or lack of finishing!!

Greetings New World...
Greetings one and all to my very first blog, not just of July, not just of 2013 but my very first ever! Yes, that's right, joining the 21st Century to highlight the goings on in the 41st Millenium and of Older Worlds has finally happened and today is hopefully the first of many. This blog will highlight the world of Warhammer, the games ( both Fantasy & Sci-fi based versions) covering the modelling, painting and general hobbying as well as possibly "rumours" of forthcoming additions to these gaming systems and moving into general discussion.
I first ventured into this world back in the early 90's for WFB 3rd Edition and also the initial advent of WH40K, known then as Rogue Trader. The appeal was in the detail and infinite possibilities to explore and expand upon the alternative worlds outlined. With a significant gap of 10-15 years(??) I have returned with a different perspective and hopefully more skill & inclination to explore other aspects of the hobby, which from the early days has now expanded into numerous computer/video games, novels and expansions.
Now, I fully intend to become further immersed into the aspects of the hobby and will be expanding and challenging myself to "finally" get those units painted up, to "finally" play that game with something not representing grey plastic and maybe in the future switch to tournament play, for now please feel free to comment, suggest or advise on all things Warhammer....
